Dear %PERS_NAME%,

Where can you see the Choir of Hard Knocks perform, hear fabulous speakers and get to influence Government policy?

The SpArt Think Tank of course!

It's not too late to register for the SpArt Think Tank 28th June 2007. By attending and being involved in the Think Tank you will be part of the broader discussion on the value of Sport and Arts to the greater community, which includes fostering community health and well-being and creating a sense of regional and national identity.

Not only will the Think Tank give you the opportunity to hear and interact with some of the most innovative thinkers and doers within the Sport and Arts sectors. It will give you the chance to have input into the papers that Verve presents to the Victorian Government on the importance of a skilled and trained workforce in the Sport, Arts, Cultural, Recreation and Entertainment industries. The abridged program is below and full program details are available on http://www.verve.org.au/spart/program.html

Attending the Think Tank also means that you will hear and interact with The Choir of Hard Knocks before they head off to perform at the Sydney Opera House

For Verve to continue to offer events such as this, we need your support. The best way to support us is to attend. To register go to http://www.verve.org.au/spart/index.html or ring Verve on 9614 5566.

SpArt sectors provide "content" for events which are a major drawcard to both regional centres and major cities. Melbourne hosts a wide range of SpArt events that has helped it become a destination city and many regional towns are recognised for the SpArt events they host. But recently a backlash has occurred! The value of events is being questioned. How do we make sure that the public and government realise the benefits of running international and local events beyond the dollar? This session will explore the links between the sectors and the wider economy and discuss ways to keep a positive message regarding our future event activities.

How can we make sure that the sectors are recognised for the intrinsic benefits they bring to the greater community? How can we make sure that the sectors remain accessible to all and for the benefit of all? What tangible benefits can arise once people are engaged through the sectors?

This session will broadly outline some of the research into the tangible and intangible benefits of the sectors on community building and health and wellbeing.
